"Les Mis" To Be Performed 8 Times At Limestone College Theatre

Limestone College Theatre and The Gaffney Little Theatre will present the musical Les Misérables June 18 through June 20 and June 24 through June 27 at 7 p.m. each day, and on June 21 at 3 p.m.

All performances are at the Limestone College Theatre, located at 130 Leadmine Street in Gaffney.

Les Misérables is one of the longest running musicals in history and includes such classic songs as “One Day More,” “On My Own,” and “I Dreamed a Dream.”

The intimate confines of Limestone College Theatre will give audiences an unprecedented opportunity to experience the musical more closely than ever before.

Based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo, the story begins with Jean Valjean who after 19 years as a prisoner is set free by Javert, the officer in charge of the prison workforce. Valjean promptly breaks parole but later uses money from stolen silver to reinvent himself as a mayor and factory owner. Javert vows to bring Valjean back to prison. In the meantime, Valjean becomes the guardian of a child named Cosette after her mother’s death, but Javert's relentless pursuit means that peace will be a long time coming.

The performance ensemble includes Jade Alford (Gaffney), Dr. Tim Baxter-Ferguson (Gaffney), Jeanna Burch (Gaffney), Charles Carr (Richmond, VA), Ryann Clark (Shelby, NC), Brady Cunningham (Moore, SC), Lori Lee (Spartanburg, SC), Brad Peterson (Boiling Springs, SC), Zach Potter (Spartanburg, SC), James Siarris (Spartanburg, SC), and Dara Thompson (Spartanburg, SC).
