Logging In
Your ID will be your first initial, middle initial, and last name followed by the four digit month and date of your birthday all in lower case letters.
**If your name contains a hyphen or an apostrophe please disregard it in your WebCT ID. If you do not have a middle initial, then use only your first initial and last name.
Example: Jane Marie O'Brien Birthdate: November 6th WebCT user name: jmobrien1106
You will then enter your password which will be your social security number without dashes. You can change your password after you log in.

. Be sure to include the course number, your full name, and the email ID you used.
Using the Assignment Dropbox
Your instructor may have included an Assignments tool, which allows you to view and submit assignments.
- Click the Assignments tool. You will see a listing of your assignments under the Inbox tab. Click the assignment hyperlink. You will see the due date, maximum grade, and instructions, along with a list of any related files your instructor may have added.
- To view a related file, click the file name.
- To submit a completed assignment, you can type your answer in the submission box and/or upload an assignment file by clicking on Add Attachment. Browse to locate the file on your computer, and click "Open". Click "Submit".
- To view your grades for Assignments, you must go to the Graded tab. Under the Submitted tab, you can see all assignments you completed, but have not been graded.
Printing from Blackboard
Most pages will have a Printable Version button you can use to open that page in a new window for easy printing.
Viewing Grades
Click on the My Grades link on the bottom left menu available on any Blackboard Page.
Taking Quizzes
The Assessments tool allows you to take quizzes and view scores online.
- Click on Assessments tool. You will see a list of quizzes, along with the following information:
- Availability - Days and times during which the quiz may be completed.
- Duration - The length of time you may spend on a quiz.
- Grade - Your score / possible points
- Attempts - The number of times you have taken the quiz and the remaining number of times allotted.
- Click on the quiz name.
- Your instructor may have assigned a password to this particular quiz. If so, enter it and click "Begin Assessment."
- For each question, read the directions and answer the questions. Click "Save Answer" after each entry. Note that the circles on the right side are replaced with blue checkmarks as answers are saved.
- Click "Finish" to submit your quiz. If you have forgotten to answer any questions or to click "Save Answer," you will be reminded and can make the necessary changes. Click "OK."
- Depending on how your instructor constructed the quiz, the results may be available immediately. If so, click "View Attempt" to see how you did.
Using the Calendar
Your instructor may have included a Calendar tool, which displays events of interest to your group.
- Click the Calendar tool to display the current month. (To navigate to different months, use the pull down window at the top and then click green arrow.)
- To view details about an event, click on the entry for that day.
- To create an entry, click "Add Entry". Enter the following information:
- Title (required) - The text that appears in the date square.
- Description (optional) - Information displayed when users click on the day.
- Entry Type - "Personal" makes the event appear on only your screen; "Public" makes the event visible to all class members (provided your instructor has allowed for this).
- Start Date/ Time and End Date/ Time.
- Click "Save." and you will see your entry. To make changes, select the day, then use the drop-down menu next to the entry to edit or delete.
Using the Discussions Tool
Your instructor may have included a Discussions tool, which allows class members to share comments about different topics.
- Click on Discussions tool. You may see a list of discussion topics. Click on one. Any unread messages are displayed. (To include messages you have already read, click "All")
- To read a message, click on the message title.
- To respond to a message, open the message to read it and then click "Reply". Type your reply and click "Post."
- To post a new message, click "Create Message." A
- "Create Message" window appears. Then enter a subject, type the message, and click "Post."
- To compile selected messages for printing, click the box to the left of each message you wish to include. Then choose "Create Printable View" at the bottom of the screen.
Using Blackboard Mail
Your instructor may have included an E-mail tool, which allows you to correspond with your instructor and other members of your course.
- Click on the Mail tool. This will display the "Inbox." To see a list of previously read messages, click "All."
- To send a message, click "Create Message". A "Create Message" window appears. Click the "Browse for Recipients" button to display a list of students and faculty in the course. Choose the recipient by using the check box option next to the names and then click "Save". To email your professor, you can check the "All Section Instructors" option. Then enter a subject, type your message, and click "Send".
- To reply to a message, open the message and click "Reply". Type your reply and click "Send."
Changing Your Password
Go to the Student Password Kiosk at https://mailbox.limestone.edu/kiosk/
Enter your last name and your social, click Get Information. Your email ID will be displayed. Select the Reset Password to SSN link, or the Reset password to a new password link, enter your new password, and then click Change Password.
