We make every effort to admit students with the appropriate balance of academic and professional achievements, coupled with their particular interests and talents, that makes them poised for success in our program.

Each applicant will be asked to provide:

  • An application form with a non-refundable $25 application fee
  • Baccalaureate and any graduate transcripts from each college or university attended
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation, preferably one related to work experience and one to academic experience. Recommendations by family members are not acceptable.

Students will be informed in writing of the graduate committee’s decision on admittance into the program.

Limestone College has three distinct levels of acceptance, including:

  • Full Acceptance

    Full acceptance may be given to qualified students who provide an official score from either Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

    To be considered for full admission into Limestone College’s online MBA Program, candidates will need to submit the following:

    • Baccalaureate and any graduate transcripts from each college or university attended.
    • A completed graduate school admission application with a $25 nonrefundable application fee.
    • Two (2) letters of recommendation using the Limestone College “Letter of Recommendation” form, preferably one from an individual who has knowledge of your work experience and one from an individual who has knowledge of your academic experience.
    • Students whose native language is not English must submit scores on the
      TOEFL test: a score on the electronic version of 173 is required; a score of 500 is required on the paper version.
    • An acceptable score on either the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). An acceptable score on the Graduate Management Admission Test is defined as: (200 X Undergraduate GPA) + (GMAT / GMAT Equivalency Score) = 1,000 or (200 X Graduate Work GPA) + (GMAT / GMAT Equivalency Score) = 1,200.
    • If the applicant takes the GRE, the Limestone College’s MBA Admissions Committee will use the GRE Score Conversion Tool to convert the students’ GRE Score into a GMAT Equivalency score.

  • Provisional Acceptance

    Provisional acceptance may be given to qualified students who demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of management experience in their related field. Students seeking provisional acceptance are not required to submit an official GMAT or GRE score. Students that are provisionally accepted into the program will be informed of the conditions to be met for full admission status and the deadlines for meeting each condition.

    To be considered for provisional admission into Limestone College’s online MBA Program, candidates will need to submit the following:

    • Baccalaureate and any graduate transcripts from each college or university attended.
    • A completed graduate school admission application with a $25 non-refundable application fee.
    • Two (2) letters of recommendation using the Limestone College “Letter of Recommendation” form, preferably one from an individual who has knowledge of your work experience and one from an individual who has knowledge of your academic experience.
    • Students whose native language is not English must submit scores on the

    After completion of 15 credit hours, all provisionally-accepted online MBA students will be automatically reassessed for full acceptance. The 15 graduate semester hours may a combination of credit hours earned in Limestone College online MBA program and up to six (6) credit hours transferred from another institution into the online MBA program. Once the student’s records are reassessed for full candidacy, a one-time $50 non-refundable fee will be charged for the records review.

  • Conditional Acceptance

    Conditional acceptance may be given to qualified students who meet the requirements of full or provisional acceptance but did not major in business. Students who did not major in business are required to take the following undergraduate course to fully prepare them for the academic rigor of Limestone’s online MBA program:

    BA 500 - Foundations in Business
    The purpose of this course is to give non-business majors or those not comfortable in specific business topics a basic understanding of business to ensure success in an MBA program. Depending on each student’s prior academic background, a different number of foundational modules may be required. Grading is on a satisfactory/unsatisfactory basis. Credit awarded for this course will not count toward graduation requirements for the MBA program. Once the required modules are completed, the student may begin the MBA program.

    Students that are conditionally accepted into the program will be informed of the conditions to be met for full admission status and the deadlines for meeting each condition.

    Once a candidate has completed the required courses, then he/she will automatically be moved to full or provisional status.

    The required undergraduate courses can be completed at Limestone College or another regionally-accredited college or university.

  • Financial Aid.

    Complete the FAFSA application by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov. Limestone College’s School Code is 003436.

  • Submit Transcripts.

    Have Official Transcripts sent directly from Colleges/Universities you have attended to:

  • Submit Resume or GMAT/GRE.

    If you have at least 5 years of management experience you must provide an updated resume to mba[at]limestone[dot]edu. If you don't possess at least 5 years of management experience you must submit official test scores for the GMAT or the GRE.

  • Letters of Recommendation.

    When you apply, you will need to submit contact information for 2 individuals who can provide a recommendation on your behalf. One recommendation should be from an individual who has knowledge of your work experience and the other can be a personal reference.

Is Limestone’s online MBA program accredited?

Yes! Limestone College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate, baccalaureate, and master’s degrees. What if I’ve already taken some graduate courses, can I transfer that credit?

Yes, in general, students can transfer up to six (6) credit hours for courses completed with a grade of B or higher from another accredited graduate program. All transfer credits must be approved by Limestone College.

How many classes will I need to take at a time?

The online MBA program is designed for students to focus on one course every eight weeks. In the event that you may not be able to take a course, the program is flexible to accommodate your needs and adjust accordingly.

Do I need to take the GMAT / GRE test to be accepted?

Most students do take the GMAT or GRE for admission; however, Limestone College does offer three distinct levels of acceptance – one of which does not require a score from either of these tests. For more information on Admission Requirements to our online MBA program, please CLICK HERE.

Will I need to be online at designated times?

No, Limestone College’s online MBA program is designed for working professionals who need flexibility in their schedule. There is no need to log-on to the internet at any specific time. The courses are flexible allowing you to complete the coursework at your convenience.

My company offers reimbursement for continuing education, can I use those funds to pay for my online MBA?

What if I don’t have an undergraduate business degree, can I still be accepted into the online MBA program at Limestone College?

Yes, you do not have to have a business degree to apply or be accepted into the program. Based on your undergraduate coursework, Limestone College may require you to take a selection of business-related undergraduate courses to give you a solid background in business prior to starting your graduate coursework. Is a computer required for Limestone’s MBA program?

Yes. Most of the courses will be given in an online environment, accessible via the Internet. Students will also need access to a word processing program, preferably Microsoft Word. Some courses may be given via podcast, which allows you to download lectures and watch them using your PC or video iPod when you are not connected to the Internet.
