Piano Concert By Ryan F. Smith At Limestone On March 19

Pianist Ryan F. Smith will perform in concert at Limestone College on Tuesday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. inside Fullerton Auditorium.

Smith is a native of Union, and his 95-year-old grandmother graduated from Limestone in the Class of 1924. He is a Fellow of Music at New Saint Andrews College and Conservatory of Music in Moscow, Idaho, where he teaches a full piano studio. Smith has performed across the United States in both solo and collaborative recitals. Prior to his move to Idaho, he was on the Music faculty at Coker College.

In the past, Smith has performed at the Columbia Museum of Art, Piccolo Spoleto Festival, and Palmetto Theatre. He also is a past winner in the Bob Jones University-University of South Carolina Recital Exchange Competition.

Smith earned his Doctorate from University of South Carolina in Piano Performance and a minor in Music History. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Furman University and his Master’s in Biblical Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.

The concert at Limestone will feature works by American composers such as Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber, and Robert Muczynski, among others.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
