Reggie Browning Named New Vice President For Finance At Limestone College

Following a national search comprised of dozens of candidates, Limestone College has named Reggie Browning as its new Vice President for Finance and Administration.

The Spartanburg native will assume his new duties on April 1. Browning will report to President Dr. Darrell Parker and serve as a key member of the President’s Cabinet as the College’s chief financial officer. He will manage Limestone’s business operations and oversee several departments.

“We are thrilled to welcome Reggie Browning to this role at Limestone,” Parker said in making the announcement. “He is an experienced administrative leader with a record of accomplishment in both higher education and the private sector. Reggie not only has the requisite experience as a chief financial officer in higher education, but we also believe he will be a tremendous fit within our Limestone community.”

Browning has served as the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer at Spartanburg Community College (SCC) since August of 2016. His numerous duties there included oversight of the month-end and year-end closing process, including the submission of the Annual Financial Report and Monthly Financial Report. He also led the budgeting process for both the College’s operations and capital expenditures, while managing facility capital projects to ensure they were in line with the strategic plan and SCC’s long-range capital planning.

“I am humbled and honored to have been selected to serve as the next Vice President for Finance and Administration of Limestone College,” said Browning, who also served as an adjunct professor of Accounting at SCC. “Limestone is such a historical institution and has created attractive educational experiences because of the value it places on academic excellence for traditional and non-traditional students. I look forward to working with the trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and members of the community to continue this work, finding new ways to strengthen Limestone’s increasing value for our students.”

Prior to his tenure with Spartanburg Community College, Browning was an Adjunct Professor at Virginia College for three years. He was with Piedmont Municipal Power from 2005-2016, serving as the Controller there for eight years. Browning also worked as a Staff Accountant for a private firm in Maryland.

A graduate of Dorman High School in Spartanburg, Browning received his Master’s in Business Administration & Accounting from Webster University. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of South Carolina.

At Limestone, Browning will lead and manage, both strategically and operationally, employees who are responsible for the administration of business, legal, risk management, human resources, financial records, student account financial records, vendor accounts payable, vendor accounts receivables, physical plant facilities, and auxiliary services.
