Limestone To Graduate 351 Students During Upcoming Commencements

With the spring semester coming to a close, Limestone College will soon hold three commencement exercises at Fullerton Auditorium.

Limestone will confer a total of 351 degrees during graduations planned for May 4-6. Board of Trustees Chairman Richard Baines will welcome graduates, family members, and guests each day.

The 144 day program students will graduate Thursday, May 4, at 4 p.m. A luncheon at Stephenson Dining Hall will be held for those graduates at 12 noon, and following a 1:30 p.m. rehearsal, Limestone president Dr. Walt Griffin will host a reception in their honor at 2:30 p.m. at the Curtis Administration Building. The commencement speaker on Thursday will be J. Rick Patterson, Chief Operating Officer for Horry County State Bank. Patterson is also a former Limestone College Trustee.

Also at Thursday’s commencement, because of her generous support of Limestone College, Sara J. Eddins will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree. A current member of the Board of Trustees, Eddins is a member of the College’s Class of 1960.

Graduation for the 111 Online & Evening classroom students will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 5. Those graduates will enjoy a brunch at 10:30 a.m., followed by a campus tour by Dr. Griffin at 12 noon. Following a 1:30 p.m. rehearsal, Dr. Griffin’s reception in their honor will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday’s commencement address will be delivered by Terry Mallard, President and Chief Executive Officer of Broad River Electric Cooperative, Inc.

The 84 Online & Evening internet students will graduate on Saturday, May 6, and will follow the same schedule as the Online & Evening classroom students. Graduates from the MBA program will also be recognized. Saturday’s speaker will be Dr. Jonathan Sarnoff, Limestone College Professor of History.

The MBA Program’s 12 graduates will enjoy a special reception at Winnie Davis Hall of History at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Including the 323 from the December commencements, Limestone College will graduate a total of 674 students during the 2016-2017 academic year.
