Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Honors Limestone Personnel During Awards Banquet

Limestone College's enthusiastic commitment to making a difference in the local community was on full display during the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce's 2011 Annual Meeting and Awards.

With South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley in attendance to serve as keynote speaker, recipients with Limestone ties were presented with the Chamber's Hall of Fame Award, Duke Energy's Citizenship and Service Award, Ambassador of the Year Award and the Chamber's President Award.

SGA Continues Community Outreach

On January 31, representatives of the Limestone College Student Government Association presented the Cherokee County Meals-on-Wheels with a check for $240.

With this amount, Meals-on-Wheels will be able to feed 100 people in need who live in Cherokee County.

The funds donated do not come from any budget; rather the SGA members donate the money themselves.

Using a rapid fire delivery filled with jaw-dropping statistics and impassioned calls to action, Marian Wright Edelman delivered a blistering speech in Limestone College's Fullerton Auditorium on Monday, January 17.

The Civil Rights icon and ferocious advocate for children's rights was the keynote speaker during Limestone's celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
