|Limestone Students Lead the Way in Providing Thanksgiving Meals for Upstate Families|
The drive, which was led by the criminal justice, psychology, and social work clubs at Limestone, was the epitome of a community and college working together to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Two families in Spartanburg, four in Gaffney, and four in Blacksburg will personally receive the food items from Limestone students.
But the deliveries will not end with those ten families. "We received so much food that we will be sending a separate van load of it to the Cherokee County Meals on Wheels so that it can be distributed to even more families in need," said Tim Hanshaw, Assistant Professor of Social Work at Limestone. "Our goal was originally to collect enough food to feed six families but I'm very proud of the way our community, and our students in particular, recognized the need for a project such as this-especially with the current economic climate-and went above and beyond the goals."
