LIMESTONE STUDENTS DONATE OVER $1400 TO MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION

The Limestone College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Student Alumni Leadership Council combined their efforts to donate $1469.71 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Saints' donation was in coordination with the NCAA Division II's national fundraising campaign.

Limestone's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee raised $918.71 through a year-long change drive and shirt sales. SALC donated $551 to the cause.

Groundbreaking for New Residence Hall Scheduled for Thursday

Limestone College will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for its new residence hall on Thursday, May 6th, at 11 a.m. The event will take place on the site of the new building between McMillan Hall and the Timken Center.

The new hall is scheduled to be available for student housing in January 2011. With more and more students deciding that Limestone is the college of choice for them, new housing is a necessity. The new residence hall will be available to house 96 students and will feature suite style living. Each suite will feature four two-person suites with a common living area outside each suite.

 
National Biking and Walking Organization Honors Limestone Professor

Dr. Paul LeFrancois, Limestone Professor of Economics and Chair of the Division of Professional Studies, recently received the Alliance for Biking and Walking Advocate of the Year Award.

Advocate of the Year is one of seven prestigious Advocacy Awards that the Alliance for Biking and Walking presents annually at the National Bike Summit in Washington, DC.

Limestone Wind Ensemble to Present Festive Works

Tuesday evening's concert by the Limestone College Wind Ensemble will center upon pieces written to celebrate religious and festive perspectives. The concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium, is free and open to the public.

With Limestone Band Director and Music Education Coordinator Dr. Douglas Presley conducting, the 47-member ensemble will perform works including:

  • Blessed Are They (Johannes Brahms)
  • Symphonic Suite (Clifton Williams)
  • Cathedral Music (Kenneth Singleton)
  • Century Variants (David Gillingham)
