Extended Campus Graduate Named Columbia Chief of Police

During the latter part of 2010, things became very busy in the life of Randy Scott '06. Before that, he was busy enough as a 16-year veteran with the Richland County (SC) Sheriff's Office.

But on October 4, he took a telephone call asking if he would be interested in moving to the nearby Columbia Police Department to serve as its Chief of Police. Since then, things haven't been quite the same for him. But he's quick to proclaim he would not have it any other way.

Members of the Columbia Chapter of the Limestone College Alumni Association enjoyed a July evening together at Capital City Ballpark to watch the Columbia Blowfish take on the Fayetteville Swamp Dogs.

"Whether its getting together at Riverbanks Zoo, the State Museum, or volunteering for a local agency, we usually get together once a month," said Kathy Tipton '07. "We're a small chapter in a big area, but we're anxious to grow! It's so much fun to see Limestone grads come together, so if you have any ideas for events or are looking for an opportunity to have fun with your fellow Limestone alums, I'd love to hear from you.
