Wireless Access Instructions

thumbnailCAGGNAR0 A. J. Eastwood Library provides wireless access (WIFI) for all Limestone faculty, staff, and students. Limestone students, faculty and staff are allowed to access the wireless network through an authentication process by using use their Limestone username and password to login.  Wireless access points cover the first, second floor, conference room, and curriculum lab of the library. Additional wireless Internet hot spots on campus are located in Winnie Davis, Hamrick, Cooper East, Stephenson Dining Hall, Dixie, Student and PE Center.

Instructions for Connecting to Limestone Wireless

  1. In the lower right corner of your desktop, look for the icon that lets you view wireless networks (hold mouse over each icon near the clock to find which is wireless).  Click view wireless networks icon.
  2. From the list of wireless connections, students will select (highlight) STUDENTACCESS;  faculty and staff will select FACSTAFFNET for wireless access. Click on the "connect" button.
  3. A dialogue box will appear requesting a password key (see the Library Help Desk, student services, or the IT Help Desk for password key). The state of the network will change to "Acquiring Network Address". Once the state changes to "Connected" you will be prompted to login with your Limestone email username and password.  This is an additional step the new networks use to authenticate each individual user.

* Note:  GUESTACCESS has a special username and password and must be pre-approved (cabinet level approval).

Common Problems with Wireless Access

AOL - America Online

America Online is an Online Service Provider with available connections to the Internet. The AOL Web Browser is incompatible with the Library web server.  Solution - AOL usually installs a copy of Internet Explorer with its own software. Launch AOL, minimize their browser and start Internet Explorer. This should allow regular access.

Advantages of wireless include mobility and elimination of unsightly cables. Disadvantages of wireless is that it is not like using a lab computer, only Internet is supported. Students may check their email from a browser at http://www.limestone.edu.  For additional support, students may contact Student Services or email the Limestone Help Desk at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
