Veterans LogoLimestone College would like to say THANK YOU to all the military veterans as the United States celebrates Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11.

Including its main campus, extended campus program, and on-line enrollment, Limestone College currently has 449 students who are either veterans or are actively serving in the military.

As reported previously, the 2014 nationwide list of “Military Friendly Schools” was released earlier this year and we are proud that Limestone College was one of those included in the latest edition.

LIMESTONE COLLEGE OPEN HOUSE SCHEDULED FOR NOV. 15

open house logoLimestone College will host an Open House for prospective day students on Friday, Nov. 15.

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Fullerton Auditorium. At 10 a.m., there will be a Fine Arts presentation at Fullerton Auditorium featuring the Limestone Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble and the Limestone Vocal Ensemble. That will be followed by welcoming comments at 10:20 a.m. A tour of the academic quad will take place starting at 10:40 a.m.

COMING TO LIMESTONE: "REMEMBERING NEWTOWN... A FATHER'S STORY"

David-Wheeler 6620Limestone College students and local residents will get a first-hand account of the aftermath of last year’s mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, when the father of one of the children killed speaks at Fullerton Auditorium on Monday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m.

David Wheeler’s son Ben, 6, was one of the 20 children killed in the Dec. 14, 2012, attack. Since the tragedy, Wheeler, his wife Francine, and other Newtown families, have worked to urge state and national lawmakers to pass meaningful, comprehensive gun control legislation, and to encourage citizens to come together for a national conversation about making our communities safer.
