LIMESTONE RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF BEST REGIONAL COLLEGES FOR VETERANS

Limestone College has been named as one of the best regional colleges for veterans by US News and World Report, which announced the rankings earlier this month.

Limestone was ranked No.13 in the Southern Region when the inaugural list was published on Nov. 11.

Since the Post-9/11 GI Bill was implemented in August 2009, colleges and universities have experienced an influx of veterans and their family members eager to use the expanded educational benefits. At least 773,000 veterans and their loved ones have taken advantage of the bill, which provides tuition and housing assistance to eligible veterans and their family members, according to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

MEN'S BASKETBALL 40th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION SET FOR NOV. 23

basketball 73-74Limestone College will honor the 40th anniversary of its men's basketball program during a special halftime ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 23, as the Saints take on Lander University at the Timken Center.

Pictured here is the 1973-1974 squad, which was the first men's basketball team in Limestone history.

 
LIMESTONE COLLEGE RECEIVES DONATION FROM BROAD RIVER ELECTRIC CHARITIES

Broad River Electric Check 2Limestone College received a $1,000 donation from Broad River Electric Charities during a check-presentation ceremony on Nov. 14.

All totaled, Broad River Electric handed out $24,500 in donations throughout its service area, including $8,000 in Cherokee County.
