LIMESTONE ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME

Limestone College is accepting nominations for the Athletics Hall of Fame from alumni and friends of Saints athletics.

Established in 1996, the Hall of Fame honors individuals whose athletic achievements or services have enriched the Saints athletic programs or brought fame to the College. It recognizes and provides an enduring memorial for those persons who have made lasting and significant contributions to the cause of sports at Limestone College. The Hall of Fame was established in 1996.

Palmetto Trust Honors Limestone for Renovation of Winnie Davis Hall of History

The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation honored Limestone College with a 2010 Honor Award for the college's restoration of Winnie Davis Hall of History. The presentation was made during the organization's 15th annual awards ceremony in early March in Georgetown.

Martin Meek, president of Campbell Meek Architects of Spartanburg who directed the Limestone initiative, was also honored with the Palmetto Trust's Governor's Award for Lifetime Achievement in Preservation. Meek and McDaniel Construction were also presented with a 2010 Honor Award for their work on the Winnie Davis restoration.

Limestone Teams with Agencies to Provide Seed Money for Gardens at Area Elementary Schools

Area elementary students and teachers after receiving their mini-grant from Limestone College to construct a raised-bed garden.

Fighting cancer by eating healthy is an idea that is literally taking root at Limestone College.

Teaming with officials from the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) and the Clemson University Extension Service, Limestone welcomed students from four area elementary and high schools to kick-off its community garden initiative. And "community" is the operative word.
