LIMESTONE ACCEPTS "KNOWLEDGE IS POWER" CHALLENGE FOR NEW LIBRARY

Library - Rendering2Limestone College officials are expectant that a challenge gift from a charitable foundation will provide the inspiration needed to complete an ambitious building campaign that will bring a new library to its main campus in Gaffney.

The “Today’s Needs…Tomorrow’s Dreams” capital campaign now underway seeks to raise a total of $12 million, including $6 million for the new library, $4.8 million for athletics improvements, and $1.2 million for the “Limestone Fund.” To date, approximately $7.77 million has been pledged to the capital campaign.

COLONEL ROY MATHIS TO RECEIVE HONORARY DEGREE ON MAY 8

Roy Mathis - PhotoRetired Chaplain and Minister Roy N. Mathis of Gaffney will be recognized on Thursday, May 8, with an Honorary Doctoral Degree from Limestone College.

Affectionately known as “Colonel Roy,” Mathis is highly active in local community and service organizations, and will be honored by Limestone particularly for his years of service on the Board of Trustees, including a period as Chairman of the Board.

The Honorary Doctor of Public Service Degree will be bestowed upon Mathis during Thursday’s Day Program commencement exercises that begin at 4 p.m. at Fullerton Auditorium.

LIMESTONE'S FIRST MBA GRADUATION HELD SATURDAY, MAY 10

When Whitney Boyd walked across the stage at Fullerton Auditorium on Saturday, May 10, she took historical steps for Limestone College.

At last week’s annual spring schedule of commencement events that honored those students who had completed all the necessary requirements for their respective degrees, Limestone added one more ceremony. That was because the College held its first-ever commencement exercise for its Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Program.
