DR. BARRY SHREVE NEW DIRECTOR OF EXTENDED CAMPUS INTERNET PROGRAM

barry - TwitterSince establishing its Block Program in 1976, Limestone College has been at the forefront in providing educational opportunities for working adults wishing to complete their baccalaureate degrees.

Dr. Barry Shreve, the school’s new Director of the Extended Campus Internet Program, has his sights set on keeping Limestone in front of the pack when it comes to nontraditional ways to take classes.

“Limestone’s advantage over almost any other internet program is that we have quality personnel teaching quality courses,” said Dr. Shreve, who came in Limestone earlier this year after a six-year span he refers to as a “pre-retirement” period when he and his wife lived on a boat and he taught classes on-line. “Our goal is to keep improving on every level, from training and developing faculty to offering a standard schedule of courses.”

FACULTY MEMBERS RECEIVE FULLERTON TEACHING AWARDS

Five members of the Limestone College faculty received Fullerton Foundation Excellence in Teaching Awards at the Academic Awards Banquet held in April. The recipients were Dr. Cindy Cavanaugh, Professor Mary Beth Hyatt, Dr. Keith Keppley, Dr. Randy Nichols, and Professor Jerry Wright.

Each merit award winner received a cash stipend provided by the Fullerton Foundation. Criteria for the award include effectiveness in teaching; scholarly activities (research, publishing, papers for professional meetings, etc.); participation in Limestone's academic program (committee work, projects, etc.); continuing improvement of personal education; assistance to students; community service; and activities which reflect favorably upon Limestone.

CURTIS PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT FOR INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

Kelly Curtis - Limestone CollegeAfter serving nine months on an interim basis, Kelly Curtis was recently named Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Limestone College.

Curtis is a Gaffney native who graduated from Limestone in 1999 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in computer information systems.  She started her career at Limestone in 1996 as the administrative assistant for Institutional Advancement.  Since that time she has served as Director of Alumni Affairs, Director of Corporate and Annual Giving, and Associate Vice President for Development.
