|"LIGHTS, CAMERA, CHRISTMAS" SET FOR LIMESTONE COLLEGE ON NOV. 19|
Limestone College will “ignite a spark” for the Christmas season on Tuesday, Nov. 19, with “Lights, Camera, Christmas” at Fullerton Auditorium.
The hour-long concert will feature the Limestone College and Community Chorus, as well as the Limestone Vocal Emsemble.
Show time is at 7:30 p.m. and admission is free.
Selections will include “This Little Light of Mine,” “Gaillarde,” “Light The Legend,” “Behold A Star From Jacob,” “Candlelight Carol,” “Brighter Than The Sun,” “We Absolutely Have To Have Music,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Deck The Nutcracker Hall,” “Grinch!,” “The 12 Days Of Christmas,” Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas,” and “We Need A Little Christmas.”
“We would love our annual fall concert to become a yearly tradition for members of our community,” said Dr. Gena Poovey, the Chairperson of the Department of Music at Limestone. “We know it has already become a tradition for many, and we are hopeful that ‘Lights, Camera, Christmas’ will start new traditions for others. This is a great opportunity for our dedicated, mature patrons to bring children out and introduce them to this wonderful music.
“Our repertoire is obviously celebrating the various kinds of lights noticed at Christmas,” she added. “The intention is to also celebrate the way music is an integral part of stage productions and movies and how it is captured by the camera. Our goal is also to ease us into the cold of winter by igniting a spark of anticipation for Christmas.”
