Happenings


Christmas on Campus Invite

Limestone College will help welcome in the holiday season on Saturday, Dec. 6, when it hosts the 30th annual “Christmas On Campus” event.

Activities begin with the lighting of the luminaries at 5 p.m. From 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., the Limestone music department will perform a “Sounds of the Season” concert inside Fullerton Auditorium.

The Lighting of the Christmas tree will take place at 7:45 p.m. on the front campus, followed by a visit from Santa Claus at 7:55 p.m.

For nearly 11 years, Travis McDowell has had a front row seat to Limestone College’s transformation into one of the finest private institutions in the Southeast.

Since 2004, McDowell has worked in Limestone’s admissions office in various roles, and earlier this month he was promoted to Director of Admissions.

SALC Members

On Tuesday, Nov. 18, Limestone College hosted an induction ceremony and dinner for the 2014-2015 members of SALC.

Limestone College's Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC) is a group of students who represent the College at high-visibility functions. SALC members serve as ambassadors for Limestone and represent the College to its constituencies: alumni, the campus, and the community. The new SALC members are: Taylor Cline, Lyann Conkin, Anna Carolina Duarte, Gina Legaluppi, Allie Little, Sarah Munoz, Jaylen Schulte, Denis Schulz, Megan Smith, and Riley Winter.

Building upon the success of its traditional Social Work degree, Limestone College announces that it will offer its complete Social Work degree program online beginning in January of 2015.

Limestone students who qualify may choose to obtain their Bachelor of Social Work degrees in online classes, or in more traditional in-person classes, or a combination of both.

Limestone College’s Dylan Sims will give his senior percussion recital performance on Monday, Nov. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Fullerton Auditorium.

From Cassatt, S.C., he attended North Central High School. Sims, who began his musical journey as a percussionist in sixth grade, is now a senior at Limestone College. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education.  He has participated in the Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, iPan Steel Drum Ensemble, and the Limestone College Marching Saints.
