Electronic Books in the Eastwood Library
The library has over 91,000 electronic books in our Ebook collection. All of them can be found in the library's KATE online catalog (scroll to the bottom of the record and select the electronic link to the book).To access the electronic books from off-campus please select which collection you'd like to search. You'll then be prompted to login using your Limestone email username and password. To learn how to search for an e-book select EBook Tutorial.
Limestone Faculty/Staff/Students will login with their Limestone email username and password. Students who cannot access e-books using their username and password, select the Student Kiosk link found in Quick Links (located at the bottom of each Web page) to find username and reset password.

Free eBooks Online
- Click on Full view at the left of the results list to only get results that you can read in full and download.
- Look for the Download button in the upper right corner for books in the public domain. Download options typically include PDF or EPUB.
- Limited previews are often available for book still under copyright.
- The Google Books Research Guide is helpful for getting started searching Google Books.
Internet Archive - The Internet Archive is working to digitize works in the public domain, as well. Fiction to historical texts to academic books.
- Choose Read Online to read the book fully online in Internet Archives' viewer.
- Download options include: PDF, EPUB, and Kindle, among others.
Project Gutenberg - The oldest free eBook site. Works from the classical era into the 1900s. Many primary sources and reference works.
- Read online in plain HTML or choose the Download tab for options including EPUB and Kindle.
Perseus Digital Library - large digital library of primary source works in history, science, and the humanities.
- View online in bare bones HTML. Only download option is XML.
Combined Arms Research Library Digital Library - includes ebooks from the School of Advanced Military Study, Masters theses, operational documents from various wars and more.
- Items are in PDF format, open in an embedded Adobe Reader, and are thus easily downloadable.
HathiTrust - Millions of digital books, journals, government documents, and other volumes, from research libraries. Both public domain and in-copyright works across a full range of subjects are included. All items are discoverable, but viewability depends on each individual items copyright status.
