The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, CSIT, offers the most updated technology education to meet the needs of our students. We have small classes for individual attention. This helps students to be ready to "invent the future" and redefine computing for the 21st century. Our students are highly recruited and employed by companies worldwide. The Limestone College faculty is well educated in many areas of computer science and information technology. Our programs are designed to give students a solid grounding in both theoretical and practical topics in computer science and information technology. We offer four concentrations: programming, information technology, computer and information systems security, and internet management. |
Facilities Three computer laboratories are available for student use on Limestone's campus including a state-of-the-art lab with the utmost multimedia equipment to ensure success for Limestone College students. The computers are equipped with the commonly used software for word processing and spreadsheets as well as resources for improving the grammar and style of research papers.

To aid in research and data retrieval, access is also available to the Internet and World Wide Web. In addition, the A.J. Eastwood Library is available to assist all students with resource materials needed to expand and explore their college subject matter as well as areas of general interest. In addition to an ample collection of computer science and information technology-related books, the library has pertinent periodicals, audiovisuals, and reference materials. The library also has computers connected to the Internet which are available for student use. Career Opportunities Graduates from Limestone's Computer Science and Information Technology program find job opportunities in such diverse fields as internet management, information technology, computer and information security, computer design, software development, systems analysis, database design, computer graphics, and technical programming. Because of the strong theoretical orientation of our program, technology companies, government, and educational institutions employ many of our graduates. |
