Annually, the Limestone College Alumni Association Board of Directors select recipients for seven different award categories, to recognize the numerous achievements, and contributions alumni and friends make to their communities and to Limestone College.

Nominations are accepted throughout the year.  The deadline for the 2014 Awards is Monday, February 3, 2014.

To make a nomination, please review the brief objective for each of the different awards and submit the Outstanding Alumni Awards Nomination Form.

Please note that if you do not submit your name and a reason for the nomination, the person will not be considered for an award. Please provide the Alumni Office with the following information so we may contact you if there are any questions concerning the nomination and also notify you as to who the award winners are.

Guidelines

The following awards will be given annually if there is a qualifying alumnus to receive one:

  • Service to Church
  • Service to Community
  • Service to College
  • Service to Education
  • Young Alumna/us of the Year
  • Alumna/us of the Year
  • Honorary Alumna/us of the Year

The award winners will be chosen by the Records and Recognition Committee.  The committee has the right to select a nominee for a different award from which they were originally nominated for.  A written nomination must be turned into the Alumni Office.  Nominations will be kept on file to be considered for up to five years if not chosen.

Qualifications

1.  The nominee must be an alumna/us of Limestone College.

2.  The nominee must not be a current Alumni Association Board Member.

3.  The nominee must not have already received the award they are nominated for.

Awards Description and Criteria

Alumna/us of the Year

Recipients of this award, established in 1976, must be graduates of Limestone College; must have graduated at least three years prior; provided distinguished and meritorious service to the College; and engaged in voluntary services at the local, state, and/or national level.  The winner is selected by the Limestone College Alumni Association's Board of Directors. Young Alumna/us of the Year

Recipients of this award, established in 1997, must be graduates of Limestone College; must have graduated at least three years prior; and must be no older than thirty-five years of age.  The winner is selected by the Limestone College Alumni Association's Board of Directors. Service to College

Recipients of this award, established in 1978, must be involved with the College and show a genuine love for her and involvement includes but is not limited to:  helping to increase alumni participation and giving, serving on a board or committee, and/or serving as a class agent.  The winner is selected by the Limestone College Alumni Association's Board of Directors. Service to Education

Recipients of this award, established in 1990, must have served in education for at least three years.  The winner is selected by the Limestone College Alumni Association's Board of Directors. For a list of previous Outstanding Alumni Award Recipients, please select link.

Service to Church

Recipients of this award, established in 1978, must have well-defined sense of mission and purpose and be service oriented.  The winner is selected by the Limestone College Alumni Association's Board of Directors. For a list of previous Outstanding Alumni Award Recipients, please select link.

Service to Community

Recipients of this award, established in 1978, must be residents of the community for at least three years; must be involved in at least two different community organizations or services; and must show civic responsibility.  The winner is selected by the Limestone College Alumni Association's Board of Directors.
