ATEP Goals and Objectives |

In accordance with the goals and objectives stated in the Mission Statement of Limestone College, the ATEP has set specific goals and objectives for ATSs.
ATEP Goals:
- Produce entry-level Athletic Trainers who will be recognized as qualified allied health professionals in the care of the physically active.
- Provide ATSs with a variety of educational experiences in an environment that is conducive to learning and feedback..
- Educate ATSs through a structured academic curriculum and a hands-on clinical education program in order to produce well-rounded individuals that have been challenged and are versed in the skill of being able to critically think their way through various situations.
- Instill the value and importance in our ATSs of ethical decision making, continued education, and professional development.
ATEP Objectives:
- Assess the academic coursework and clinical skills of each ATS to ensure that each student is progressing appropriately within the ATEP.
- After acceptance into the ATEP, put ATSs on a schedule that will ensure that they receive field experiences with upper extremity sports, lower extremity sports, equipment intensive sports, general medical rotation, physical therapy/sports medicine clinic experience, and an internship experience.
- Utilize evaluation tools to improve upon the quality of instruction and program effectiveness, and allow ATSs a voice in the ATEP.
- Promote the concept of establishing professional contacts, joining professional organizations, and attending educational and professional meetings.
