Physical Education Teacher Education

The Physical Education-Teacher Education program is approved by the SC Department of Education leading to K-12 certification in Physical Education.  The following is a list of the coursework necessary for the Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education Teacher Education.

PE 452, 453 (13 credits)
ED 200, 209, 304, 310 (12 credits)

In addition to the coursework listed above, candidates for teacher certification must complete all the application requirements for admission to the Teacher Education Program and for approval to student teach including, but not limited to the following:

• Achieve a 2.5 cumulative grade-point average
• A grade of B or higher in the following courses: PE131, 132, 133, 217, 218, 219
• Fitness level tests
• Pass the Praxis I qualifying exam, prior to admission to the Teacher Education Program
• Pass the Praxis II and the PLT examinations prior to student teaching
