You need JavaScript enabled to view it , Associate Professor of Music, is the Band Director and Program Director for Music Education at Limestone College. He received his B.A. and M.Ed. from Charleston Southern University and a Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has studied conducting with Dr. John Locke and music education and research with Dr. Patti Sink and Dr. Don Hodges. Dr. Presley has also taught in the public schools of Hilton Head, Charleston, and Summerville, South Carolina, as well as Wilmington, Delaware.

 

In addition to his educational background and public school teaching experience, Dr. Presley is a two-time guest conductor for the UNCG Wind Ensemble, and was recorded on the compact disk Ra!. He has participated in conducting workshops at the Eastman School of Music and the University of Michigan; studying conducting with Mark Scatterday, Michael Haithcock, Rodney Dorsey, and Terry Schwiebert. He has also published research on the sound level exposures of Drum and Bugle Corps members in Percussive Notes Magazine (August 2007).

 

Dr. Presley has been an active writer, arranger, and instructor of marching bands in both North and South Carolina, and is in demand as a guest conductor. He was also a member of the world famous Riverside Community College Marching Tigers, having traveled with the group throughout Southern California and Japan. Dr. Presley also serves on the Event Staff for Music for All, and was a member of the SWAG Team for the Bands of America Summer Band Symposium, and the Music for All Leadership Team.

 

Dr. Presley has several nominations for Who's Who Among American Teachers, and is a recipient of the Fullerton Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award from Limestone College. He has been a Guest Conductor for the South Carolina Band Directors Association (SCBDA) Region Band Clinics, is currently Chair of the Teacher Education Committee for the South Carolina Music Educators Association (SCMEA), and is the Treasurer for the South Carolina Chapter of the College Band Directors Association (CBDNA). He is a member of The National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the SCMEA, the SCBDA, the CBDNA, and the College Music Society. Dr. Presley and his wife Brooke are the parents of four fantastic children: Sean, Wade, Bryce, and Ella.
