  • Teaching students how to simplify tough mathematical problems, and taking the fear of math out of their minds.

Personal Interests:

     My name is John W. Johnson, Jr. and I am a Math teacher for Limestone College at the Yamessee site. I retired from teaching public school in 2000 after teaching 31 years at Estill High School. At the high school, I was the Advisor of the Newspaper staff, the Chess club, the Photography Club, the Student Council, and the Beta Club. I was also the Softball and Baseball coach as well as the chairman of the Math Department. I have taught math at the Upward Bound Summer Program in Beaufort, SC (1995-1998). I enjoy traveling, playing chess, taking pictures, writing and reading sports magazines. I have been a Dodgers fan sins 1953 when they were in Brooklyn, NY. I am currently the chairman of the Deacon Board at First Estill Baptist Church. I am married to Shirley Brooks Johnson and have 3 children (John,III, Reginald, and Kimberly). I also have 4 grands (Camille, Amber, Bryce, and Alaina).
