|Health Care Administration Programs and Degrees|
The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree. The required courses listed below provide students with a well-rounded background in the professional disciplines necessary for success in today's health care business environment.
In addition to the general education requirements; the following Health Care Administration courses are required; Health Care Delivery in the United States; Health Care Finance; Health Care Economics; Health Care Law; Health Care Policy; Financial Accounting; Managerial Accounting; Business Communications; Principles of Management; Ethical Issues in the Workplace; Principles of Marketing; Microcomputer Applications; Microeconomics; Mathematical Analysis for Business; and Elementary Statistics.
In addition to the required courses, students majoring in Health Care Administration are also required to take at least two of the following courses: Health Care information Systems; Health Care Quality Management and Outcomes Analysis; Politics of Health Care; Health Care Internship and one of the following courses; Human Resources Management; Organizational Behavior; Leadership in Organizations; Supply Chain Management, or Consumer Behavior.
Some classes are offered in the classroom where students have the opportunity to interact directly with instructors and fellow students. Or, students may elect to pursue the entire degree online, completing course work and assignments when they best fit a student's busy schedule.
