Assistant Professor of Spanish & Religion, Chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion
Dr. Bob Lewis joined the faculty of Limestone College in 2003, having previously taught at USC Upstate, Spartanburg Community College, Amridge University, Auburn University, and the University of Alabama. He has also taught an occasional course in the Doctor of Ministry program at Erskine Theological Seminary.
In an earlier career, Dr. Lewis worked with several Fortune 500 companies in medical sales in the Southeast and Puerto Rico. In 1989 he opened a software development firm which produced a CD-ROM reference Bible for the American Bible Society and a CD-based research product for Religious and Theological Abstracts. He subsequently served as the president of two software companies serving the electrical wholesale distribution industry. For several years he and his wife directed a medical and educational outreach mission in the Dominican Republic. Over the years he has ministered to churches in Alabama, Florida, Texas, and Mexico. He is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
In addition to two years of graduate work in Spanish and a graduate minor in Internet programming from Golden Gate University, Dr. Lewis holds a doctorate in practical theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
He and his wife Grace and their four children reside in east Spartanburg.
