The Limestone College Wind Ensemble will present the concert “Ying & Yang” at Fullerton Auditorium on Tuesday, Dec. 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

According to Limestone College Director of Bands and Associate Professor of Music Education Dr. Patrick Carney, various dualities will be found throughout each composition and composer, interweaving a connection between them not obvious by title alone. Those interdependent opposites will allow the listener to experience the musical journey in their own way.

Randy D. Nichols, Chair of Limestone’s Dept. of Communications, is featured in the new book, Mobile Technologies and the Writing Classroom. Nichols worked with fellow Clemson Doctoral Alumna, Dr. Josephine Walwema, to contribute a chapter titled "Untangling the Web through Digital Aggregation and Curation" to this new NCTE publication.

The Limestone College and Community Chorus and the Limestone College Vocal Ensemble will present a fall concert entitled “Carols: Peace & Joy; Shalom v’Simcha,” on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m., at Fullerton Auditorium

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be conducted by Dr. Gena Poovey, Professor of Choral/Vocal Music Education and Director of Choral Activities at Limestone. The piano accompanist for the concert is Dr. David B. Thompson, Professor of Music at Limestone.

Eight Limestone College students took part in the 89th annual South Carolina Alliance For Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (SCAHPERD) Conference and Exposition held Nov. 11-13 in Myrtle Beach.

Those attending were Elizabeth Bunn, Ross Benzel, Tyler Gaulton, Madison Holley, Marissa Johnson, Josh Lang, Callie Phillips, and Ryan Stephens.

A production of “August: Osage County” will have a three-night run at Limestone College Theatre on Dec. 1-3. Show-time each day is at 7:00 p.m.

Winner of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best New Play, “August: Osage County” centers around the Weston family, brought together after their patriarch – a world-class poet and alcoholic – disappears.

Limestone College recently welcomed Shannon Creighton as the new Director of its Master of Business Administration program.

Creighton joins Limestone after eight years at Appalachian State University where he served in several roles, including graduate assistant for the MBA program, financial aid counselor, a faculty member in the Walker College of Business, and a faculty advisor to several student groups.

Brett Schenning, an adjunct professor at Limestone College, recently had selections from one of his art series exhibited at South Carolina State University.

The selections were from Schenning’s series “Not Far From Here.” The exhibition was on view October 1-29 at the Fine Arts Building Gallery on the SCSU campus in Orangeburg. There was an artist talk and closing reception on October 27.

As part of the national "Giving Tuesday" initiative, Limestone College will host its third annual “SaintsGiving” event on November 29 as a way to celebrate generosity and to encourage giving.

The focus of this year’s “SaintsGiving” will again be the Limestone Fund, which is a vital part of the College’s operating budget.
