Bob Campbell Field House Dedication Scheduled for Oct. 24

A building dedication has been scheduled for Friday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m., for the new Bob Campbell Field House at Limestone College. The ceremony comes a year and one day after the groundbreaking was held for the new athletics facility.

Upstate Veterans Stand Down

For the second straight year, Limestone College will have a large presence at the Veterans Upstate Stand Down scheduled for the Spartanburg Expo & Event Center on October 9.

The event to assist homeless veterans will be held from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Limestone Student Social Work Organization president Mary Carnicle, a 31-year-old Social Work major from Rutherford County, NC, who now lives in Spartanburg, SC, is organizing the volunteer effort from Limestone.

Limestone College’s first-ever iPad Hub Professional Development workshop will take place in the A.J. Eastwood Library on Tuesday, Oct. 14, from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m.

The purpose of this event in the library’s conference room is to have Limestone’s pre-service teachers and faculty members demonstrate iPad apps that would be appropriate to use in classroom settings.

The Steinway piano series is Limestone's way of showcasing its fully restored Steinway "D" piano. Located in Fullerton Auditorium, Limestone's Steinway was literally dismantled into pieces at the Steinway & Sons facility on Long Island, NY, during its restoration in 2013.  The intensive process lasted nine months and cost over $50,000.

Limestone College recently celebrated National Banned Books Week, an annual week-long event celebrating the freedom to read. The A.J. Eastwood Library featured a display on banned books, and hosted a Banned Books Photo Booth with English/Interdisciplinary Studies Professor Megan Anderson. Anderson is teaching an ID 100 class on “Banned and Blacklisted Books” this semester.
