The Limestone College Presidential Search Committee met on August 7, 2017, at 11 a.m. to review the suggestions provided during recent open forum meetings with various constituents of the College.

The suggestions were solicited by the Search Committee as part of the Presidential Profile that is being created by AGB Search.

Limestone College student Luke Holt took part in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) National Voice Competition on Friday, July 21, in Boulder, CO.

Holt advanced into the national competition in Colorado by winning first place in his category at the NATS Mid-Atlantic Regional vocal competition hosted by the University of North Carolina Music Department on March 17 in Chapel Hill. He then had to progress out of a video round to make it to the nationals.

The executive search firm assisting Limestone College with the pursuit of its next president recently conducted a number of open forums on campus.

The purpose of the meetings was to gather information in regard to the characteristics that Limestone’s constituents would like to see in the next president.

AGB Search consultants Dr. James Davis and Dr. Melinda Leonardo presided over the open forums.

Homecoming just got a whole lot sweeter at Limestone College.

The third annual tailgate party will take place on Saturday, October 7, as the “Big Blue Tailgate” returns with the band Audio Candy performing on stage prior to the Homecoming football game.

This year’s Homecoming will also be bigger as it is being combined with Alumni Weekend activities to offer a jam-packed two days on and around campus.

A NASA connection will place Limestone College professor Dr. Shelly Meyers at one of the best places to watch a total solar eclipse.

Meyers, Director of Teacher Education and the Chair of the Division of Education and Physical Education, will be a volunteer with the South Carolina State Museum on Sunday, Aug. 20, when it hosts its solar eclipse celebration weekend. She will help with museum exhibitions and shows leading up to viewing the total solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21, at 2:41 p.m.

With an exclusive focus on higher education leadership, AGB Search has been chosen to assist Limestone College with the search for its next president.

Based in Washington, D.C., AGB Search conducts executive searches for college and university presidents, chancellors, provosts, vice presidents, deans, and university system heads.

According to Board of Trustees Vice Chairman David Riggins, three executive search firms were interviewed recently by Limestone’s 13-member Presidential Search Committee.

Limestone Professor Dr. Shelly Meyers and a group of six others from the College recently attended a week-long NASA Educator Institute at the Langley Research Institute in Hampton, Virginia.

The institute, presented by Texas State University, is geared for K-12 pre-service teacher candidates.
