Women's Basketball Team To Play In Sweet 16 Game

The nationally second-ranked Limestone College (32-1) women's basketball team will make its third consecutive Sweet 16 appearance after knocking off fifth-seeded Wingate University (22-10) by a final of 77-66 in the NCAA Southeast Regional Semifinals on Saturday, March 14 at the Timken Center.

The top-seeded Saints will take on third-seeded Anderson University in the Sweet 16 game on Monday, March 16, at 7 p.m. at the Timken Center.

Following nationally top-ranked Alaska-Anchorage's untimely departure for the NCAA Division II Tournament, Limestone remains as the highest ranked team in the final 16. The Saints improved to 32-1 overall with their 31st straight win.

Sophomore guard Jasmine Kearse (St. Augustine, Fla.) led all scorers with 18 points as Limestone placed six different players in double figures. Seniors Celestra Warren (Chicago, Ill.) and Precilla Hill (Mobile, Ala.) each added 14 points.
