MISSION                                                                                                                              

The Limestone College Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC) is sponsoring a benefit 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk on Saturday, April 12. Money raised from the event will support Cherokee County First Steps.

The run will begin at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center on the campus of Limestone College at 8:15 a.m. and proceed through the historic district of Gaffney. Entry fees are $10 for children (12 and under) and $15 for adults registering by March 14 or $17 for same day registration. Participants will also receive a t-shirt.

“This event is a way for Limestone College to start a new tradition and to give back to the community,” said SALC President John Harper. “We wanted to donate all proceeds to First Steps because we believe in what the organization is trying to accomplish through its after-school programs. SALC hopes that this race will provide greater opportunities for after-school help and a stronger community support for the First Steps mission.
