Limestone College will host the second of its “Take 10: Career Tips in 10 Minutes” series webinars on January 24 and January 25.

Participants can choose to view the webinar online on Tuesday, January 24, at 7 p.m., or on Wednesday, January 25, at the same start time.

The free online webinar series has been created to give participants a brief overview of a specific career-related topic.

Limestone College Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Scott Tanner recently had an article selected as the “Editor’s Choice” for December of 2016 in the Journal of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry.

The article was entitled “Altered T-Cell Balance in Lymphoid Organs of a Mouse Model of Colorectal Cancer.”

Tanner’s study looked at the role immune cells play in the development of colon cancer.

Limestone College Professor of English Erin Pushman was recently awarded a Regional Artist Project Grant by the Arts and Science Council (ASC) of Charlotte, in conjunction with the North Carolina Arts Council.

Applicants for the competitive grant came from artists working in all creative disciplines from the City of Charlotte, and Mecklenburg County in North Carolina, as well as Union and York counties in South Carolina.

In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Limestone College will host a special program at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 16, at Fullerton Auditorium.

There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend. The 14th-annual program is being produced through a partnership with Limestone College and the Cherokee County MLK Committee.

Over the course of the past quarter century, Limestone College has become home to one of the most dominant men’s lacrosse programs in the nation.

That incredible journey, which includes four NCAA Division II national championships and 10 title game appearances, is highlighted in a newly released 96-page book entitled “25 Years of Limestone College Men’s Lacrosse.”
